Our Chapter is growing and our monthly participation has increased – Woohoo! We have a fabulously dedicated Board of Directors to support our thriving Chapter and move us into the future, and I would like to thank each of them from the bottom of my heart. I could not have successfully taken on leadership of this Board without their wisdom, support, humor and love.
Our Secretary and stand-in Treasurer, Jackie Alcalde Marr is wrapping up a two-year term. Jackie has done a terrific job keeping our documents up to date, coordinating our Board meetings, and stepping in to take on the Treasurer duties when we most needed her. Jackie’s humor, kindness and positive energy has been a blessing to us all, and we will miss her as she moves on to other adventures next year.
Coleen Chandler our Public Relations Director pulled off a highly successful International Coaching Week (ICW) with several events that showcased the magic and benefits of coaching! She brought her artistry to the Board in many ways, and I am very pleased to announce that she will continue on the Board next year as President-Elect!
Dolores Davis, Director at Large and communications guru has helped to grow our meeting participation with her friendly phone call campaigns to remind all of you to come join your tribe for some learning and fun! We are so fortunate that she will continue in her role next year!
Membership Director Diane Garga has served us well in this role; her attention to detail is a blessing in keeping our database up to date and helping us to identify and mitigate risks when the Board explores new frontiers, like Chapter Management Software. She has helped to actively grow our membership to over 60 members this year! Diane will be moving into a new role on the Board for 2017, and I couldn’t be more pleased to have her continuing with us!
Andreea Hurduzeu took on the role of Professional Development Director a couple of months ago and has hit the ground running! I could not be more pleased at the work she has accomplished in the short time she has been with us. We are so lucky to have her in this role and that she will continue through 2017.
Christine Mattos served this year as Director at Large and was a pleasure to work with! Christine is leaving the Board to continue to grow her thriving coaching practice. She may be leaving the Board, but we will continue to see her at meetings when her schedule allows.
I also want to send a big THANK YOU out to Pam Alexandra and Neil Edwards. Pam was President in January when she recruited me to the Board and was instrumental in helping me to learn my role as Professional Development Director. Unfortunately, she had to leave the Board a few months later for personal reasons. Neil Edwards took over as President, and on the heals of that promotion took on a new job that required him to step back from the Board, but not before he got me up to speed to take over as President. I want to thank both of them for their guidance, support and belief in me.
We have had many volunteers this year and I want to thank all of them. There are two volunteers that I have worked with personally that I would like to thank. Lois Payne our tireless web administrator is a delight to work with, and we will miss having her in this role next year. She has done so much for our Chapter by taking on our complicated web platform and spending many hours learning how to keep our website going and up to date. We are eternally grateful for all you do, and that you always do it with a willing heart and a smile! Leann Ferry volunteered for the ICW Committee and co-led one of the events with Coleen, and she served on our Nominations Committee this year! And even better, she will be joining our Board in 2017!
